Social Opportunities

Consultation with service users and other stakeholders has highlighted the need to improve social opportunities for individuals with ASD. See Consultation Report.

The Autism Forth Valley website links to a social media site called CK Friends. This is a safe, secure social networking site for people with learning difficulties, age 16 and over. CK Friends provides individuals with the opportunity to share their hobbies, interests and keep in touch with old and new friends.

Communication through social media ensures compatibility with the profile of our service users, and we have received numerous reports that demonstrate this media tool has enhanced social opportunities for people with a learning difficulty. More...

CKUK monitor the site to ensure it is safe for young people and adults with a learning difficulty to use.

There are also a range of third sector organisations that provide information and access to social groups in the Forth Valley area. Please visit the Directory of Services for more information.More...
